TEXT; Ephesians 2:5-8
“Grace” is derived from the Greek “Charis”. “Charis” came to signify “favour”, “goodwill”, and “loving kindness” especially as granted by a superior to an inferior.
In a clear term, “Grace” is an unmerited favour from God. It is also a divine enablement.
GRACE AND ITS MYSTERY
Grace is like a pivot, it comes in form of a person [Jesus Christ], Titus 2 vs1 says “For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men”.
Jesus is a clear definition of Grace, and he is revealed in several dimensions;
- It’s revealed on mankind (Acts 10 vs36).
- It’s revealed on creation (Colossians 2 vs10)
GRACE REVEALED ON MANKIND; Acts 10 vs36 says “The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ; (Lord of all). Eph. 1 vs20-22 says “According to the working of his great might which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come, and he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church…”.
Jesus is the head of the church and was lifted up at calvary, that those who believes will receive salvation by Grace (John 3 vs14- 16)
BENEFITS OF GRACE
- It terminates the law
- Eternal life (1peter 3 vs7)
- Justification (1peter 3 vs5)
- Divine favour
- Salvation (Ephesians 2 vs8-9)
- We are transformed by Grace (Romans 12 vs2)
- We are healed by Grace (Philippians 2 vs13)
Those who see the revelation of Grace are the ones chosen for deliverance. God’s Grace is free; you simply need to accept JESUS CHRIST into your life.
To belief and accept is a choice, a decision made by an individual by boldly moving to the throne of Grace.
